ROUND ROBIN DRAWS
- HOW THE DRAWS WILL BE MANAGED:
Competitors will be placed in a Group of 5 competitors with similar ability, wherever possible. These competitors will compete against each other on a Round Robin basis. Each competitor will compete against every other member in the Group.
If Entry Numbers for a particular Age Group make it impossible to make groups of 5 Competitors the Tournament Director may adjust the size of Groups to ensure everyone in that Age Group and level of competition get as many matches as possible for the number of entries received.
The Tournament Director will use past tournament results and Competitors past tournament entries to assign Competitors to Groups. The Tournament Director will also use past tournament results in the Auckland Region as a basis for assigning competitors to a Group.
There beginner, Intermediate and Open Level events for Kumite. This is help put you into the correct experience category. Competitors are then assigned to their round rubin groups.
Kata Competitors will be split into Advanced or Beginner Groups. Advanced can do any Kata they but should try not to repeat kata so they get to perform kata they may not usually get to perform in competition.
Experienced competitors maybe allocated back to back matches against comparable level competitors by the Tournament Director. This is designed to test our better competitors
