Waikato Karate is proud to host the CNI-20 in the beautiful river city of Hamilton.

In order to ensure to the smooth and timely running of this tournament, the Organisers insist that all club register COACHES, OFFICIALS and REFEREES on SPORTDATA.
Please Note: This event will only go ahead if New Zealand is at a safe Alert Level and the minimum number of participants are entered.
The CNI-20 Organising Committee reserves the right to withdraw, combine or change Event Categories if and when required up to 48 hours prior to the Competition Opening.

We want Clubs/ Associations to enter their competitors, not the players nor their parents.
Pay to Bank Account 01-0321-0249210-46 (enter the club/ association name as the reference).
Late entries, incorrect entries or entries without payment will not be accepted.
FEES: (unlimited individual events)
Individual Events Under 14 Years $50.00; 14 Years & Older $60.00
Team Events $45.00
Development – Along the lines of 1st or 2nd competition, must be a Kyu grade only, must do development kata, Competitors can only be in this division a maximum of two years. This is also for all competitors aged 9 years and under. Compulsory Kata only, and can repeat.
Intermediate – More experienced in tournaments but not at the premier level yet. Kata free choice in all rounds but cannot repeat consecutively (eg A, B, A, B, A, B). Competitors need to know three (3) kata. Competitors can only be in this division a maximum of two years.
Premier – Have competed before, 2nd Kyu and above. Those attempting selection in National teams must be in Premier divisions. Kata free choice in all rounds, no repeats. WKF rules apply.
Note - A competitor can only enter in one division in each discipline. The division can be different for Kata and Kumite.

As per current WKF Rules with the following modifications.
KATA TO BE JUDGED AS FOLLOWS:
The judging of all Kata competition will follow the FLAG system, either 3 or 5 judges.
Compulsory Kata list: Heian, Pinan, Gekusai, Saifa, or any other Kihon Kata.
In the 9 Year Old and under division, competitors are required to perform “Compulsory Kata” (as listed above).
KUMITE RULES TO APPLY TO ALL KARATE NEW ZEALAND (UNZKO) SANCTIONED TOURNAMENTS:
Divisions with three competitors will be run round robin with the placing’s decided on the number of wins achieved. If each competitor has one win each then placing’s will be decided on total points scored.
Divisions with four competitors will have a match between the two competitors who have not won a match to decide on one-third place.
Divisions with four to eight competitors will have one-third place decided using the repechage system
Divisions with nine or more competitors will use repechage to decide the third-equal placing’s.
For Karate, repechage involves the competitors who were beaten by a finalist playing-off to decide the 3rd / 3rd equal placing/s. This means that all medal winners, except possibly for third-place in a round-robin division, will have won at least one match.
As per WKF rules, follow the code of behaviour and the dress code, Club tracksuit or Suit. Only one coach can be on the mat at a time, only officially registered coaches on the mat and in the warm-up area at any time.
Referees and Judges are REQUIRED to be registered through SPORTDATA.
